We are thrilled to be working with Whitefield Academy this school year to document the experience of being one of their students! We are so impressed with this incredible institution and thrilled to be spending so much time documenting Whitefield student life! Our goal is to capture the many elements that make up Whitefield from academics, sports and celebrations to students, staff and parents! Here is a sneak peek at one of our first events at Whitefield!
Whitefield Academy’s lower school held it’s annual “I Love to Read Parade” Friday, October 18th the culmination of “I Love to Read Week.” Every day of this week is exciting as authors and writers visit to inspire young readers. Students from kindergarten – 4th grades chose a children’s book, read together as a class and then collaborated to create costumes and floats for the parade. Teachers, upper and middle school students, parents and volunteers joined in on the fun by lining the campus to cheer on the procession.
The tradition is more than a decade long, and is uniquely Whitefield, an opportunity to take teaching beyond the classroom walls. Below are a few of the images, but if you’d like to see the slideshow, click here!
This was such a wonderful event for the children at Whitefield Academy. Keep checking back to the blog for more of Whitefield’s upcoming events!
Cheers,
